Bonnezeaux Rene Renou Cuvee Zenith 1997
Harmonious, intense, and sublime ! Aromatically revealing spicy yellow fruits of exquisite ripeness, this is a medium-to-full-bodied, powerful, and explosive wine. Copious quantities of spicy bergamots, flowers, almonds, perfume, caramelized minerals, and tropical fruits can be found in its layered, velvety texture. Renou was somehow able to marry 1997′s awesome density and depth of fruit with virtually perfect levels of acidity, creating a blockbuster-sized wine of great equilibrium and freshness. Bravo! RP 97
De Bertoli Black Nobel NV
A unique dessert wine made from botrytized Sémillon that’s then fortified and aged for an average of eight years in barrel, this is a dark, coffee-brown wine. Aromas are slightly nutty and molasses-like, with raisiny, almost Muscat-like flavors. Full-bodied and rich, it finishes long and sticky. WE 90 (375 ml bottle)
Cavas de Santos Moscatel Alejandria NV
This generous, unique wine has complex and exquisite attributes, combining the best Muscat grapes of Alejandria. It is of a dark amber color and on the nose are hints of honey, nuts, sun dried fruits, raisins and tobacco. It is elegant in the mouth, offering a large variety of flavors.
Klein Constantia 2004
Offers lovely purity, with fresh-cut white peach and green fig aromas and flavors blazing along, while nectarine, lemon zest, honeysuckle and mineral notes extend the very long, precise finish. This has depth, length and cut. WS 94
