Caymus Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 1992

Caymus has one of the most enviable track records of any California winery. The Caymus Special Selection is one of the most renowned luxury cuvees of Cabernet Sauvignon in California. For a decadent, lavishly oaky, explosively rich, intense, soft as silk style of Cabernet Sauvignon, it is hard to beat. Never unapproachable, the Special Selections taste almost too delicious when released. RP 94

Château Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

The 2006 reveals medium to full body, austere tannins and lots of red and black fruits, dusty, loamy soil undertones and a hint of herbs/tobacco leaf. RP 92

Dalla Valle Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2002

A strong effort, the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon displays a dense purple color along with scents of creme de cassis, asphalt, and minerals, medium to full body, beautiful purity, and a long, heady finish filled with spice box, earth, herb, and cedar characteristics. It is also very forward. RP 92

Dominus Proprietary Red Wine 1997

The 1997 Dominus, a blend of 86.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, and 4.5% Merlot, is showing fabulously well. This wine is a fleshy, silky-textured, opulent wine with a gorgeous nose of roasted herbs, coffee, jammy black cherry and plum-like fruit. RP 94

Groth Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Tightly wound, firmly tannic, full-bodied and dense. Chewy and extracted, it is also deep, complex and concentrated.

Hall T Bar Ranch Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

Aromas of ripe inky blackberry, black olive and freshly plowed earth truly reflect the vineyard’s extraordinary terroir. Rich, intense and lively, the wine delivers chewy, concentrated flavors of black spice, cassis and grilled fennel that are quintessentially T Bar T Ranch.

Joseph Phelps Insignia Cabernet Sauvignon 2000

The 2000 Insignia is a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, and 1% Malbec. A strong effort for the vintage, it possesses a dense ruby/purple color in addition to a powerful nose of licorice, espresso roast, and black currants, medium to full body, a lush mid-palate, and a sweet, concentrated finish with no hard edges. It is a forward, precocious Insignia. RP 91

Marcassin Three Sisters Pinot Noir 2005

The wine  has aromoas of sweet red and black currants, forest floor, and fresh porcini mushrooms are present in this wine, which has fabulous concentration, sweet tannins, a broad, savory mouthfeel, and tremendous length. RP 94

Phillip Togni Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

The dense purple color is followed by stunning aromatics of black olives, blackberries, cedar, and cassis. It is full-bodied with a multi-layered texture, decent acidity, and substantial, but ripe, noble tannins. RP 95+

Rudd Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2001

The wine is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc and is spectacular. An inky/purple color is accompanied by aromas of espresso roast, melted fudge, blackberries, currants, and smoke. It is rich, with great intensity, tremendous purity, an opulent, full-bodied mouthfeel, and good underlying tannin as well as freshness. RP 95

Shafer Merlot 2005

This  Merlot has 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Cabernet Franc in the blend, and is a sensual, elegant style of wine. Soft, richly fruity, with notes of herb, mocha, coffee bean, and plenty of berry fruit, the wine has crisp acidity and a good finish.

Stanton Vineyards Petit Sirah 2008

This 319-case production is a 100% Petite Sirah varietal grown exclusively on the Stanton Estate Vineyard, St. Helena, Napa Valley. This 2008 vintage offers a hedonistic display of deep, dark, chocolate berry fruit with the smooth integrated tannins that true Stanton Vineyard fans have come to expect from the combined talents of Winegrower Doug Stanton and Winemaker Dave Phinney.
