Chateau Montelena Chardonnay 2007

The wine offers up aromas of white peaches and apple skins presented in a fresh, medium-bodied, dry, zesty format. RP 90. 

Forman Chardonnay 2008

The non-malolactic Chardonnay possesses delicate, crisp, lemon and lime-like fruit intermixed with a hint of honeyed white peaches. Medium-bodied with very good acidity, terrific aromatics, and excellent purity, this cuvee spends plenty of time in barrel, but you would never know that from its purity and absence of woodsy, smoky aromas. RP 90 

Hanzell Sonoma Chardonnay 2007

Sleek and focused with pear, apple and spice notes that are intense, vibrant, tight and focused. WS 91 

Kistler Vine Hill Road Vineyard Chardonnay 2007

From the vineyard in front of the winery, this is a muscular, powerful Chardonnay with notes of citrus oil, wood smoke, roasted nuts, and tropical fruits. It has superb concentration, considerable power, and a thick, layered mouthfeel with zesty acidity acts as a wonderful buttress to this large-scaled Chardonnay. RP 95

Mer Soleil Chardonnay Santa Lucia Highlands Barrel Fermented 2007

Fresh, rich, intense and vibrant, this wine is full-bodied with spicy pear, green apple, honeydew melon and light oak shadings, ending with a long, pure, ripe focus. WS 90 

Pahlmeyer Napa Chardonnay 2008

One of California’s super-star producers, Pahlmeyer wines have a fabulous track record of aging well. This estate was one of Helen Turley’s first clients, and since she departed one of her assistants, Erin Green, has continued to turn out sumptuous reds as well as exquisite Chardonnays.

This is one of the finest Chardonnays of the vintage. Beautiful aromas of honeysuckle, brioche, white peaches, orange marmalade, and citrus blossoms soar from the glass of this light gold/green-hued wine. A terrific texture, full-bodied mouthfeel, and hints of hazelnuts as well as honey give this cuvee lots of flesh, depth, and richness. RP 95

Peter Michael Mon Plaisir Chardonnay 2007

This wine reveals lemon and orange blossom notes intermixed with such tropical fruit notes as pineapple and mango. It is full-bodied with a light straw/greenish color, sensational acidity, and a stunning finish. RP 94

This is one of the quintessential wines in the Talbott portfolio. Crafted using a careful selec­tion of some of our finest estate fruit, this cool-climate Char­donnay embodies the power and grace of great Monterey County winegrowing. Over the years, the Diamond T Char­donnay has earned a reputation for its rich and enticing flavors of tropical fruit, citrus and minerals—all of which are beautifully represented in the standout 2007 vintage. The color is vibrant medium straw, with excellent clarity, and the aromas are redolent with high-tone tropical notes of pineapple and kiwi, underscored by layers of toasted hazelnut, citrus and minerals.

ZD Chardonnay 2008

Over the years, this California Chardonnay has evolved to be recognized as a hallmark of ZD Wines. It has a unique character created by blending the distinct attributes of the cool growing regions of Napa and Sonoma Carneros as well as the fog shrouded Santa Maria valley in Santa Barbara and the cool, windy Arroyo Seco in Monterey. Aging in lightly toasted American Oak barrels gives the wine hints of sweet vanilla and coconut and adds a depth to the wine through slow evaporation and concentration.
