BLANKIET VINEYARDS ESTATE PROPRIETARTY RED PARADISE HILL 2007

6-750 ml bottles total

This sensational estate is situated on the hillside behind Dominus’ large Napanook Vineyard. Created by Claude and Katherine Blankiet in the mid-nineties, they now have 16 acres under vine, and the winemaking is overseen by super-star viticulturists David Abreu and Martha McClellan-Levy as well as consultant Michel Rolland. This flagship offering is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon.

A whopper from a top vintage for almost all varietals in California, this wine boasts an inky/blue/purple color as well as a sweet perfume of charcoal, incense, black currants, blackberries, and hints of smoke and roasted meats. Juicy, full-bodied, and opulent with marvelously integrated tannins, this wine, while still an infant, is enormously promising. Give it 3-4 years of bottle age, and drink it over the following 25-30+ years. RP 96+
