Catena Zapata Nicasia Malbec 2006
This wine spent 18 months in new French oak prior to bottling without fining or filtration. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it delivers a breath-taking bouquet of toasty oak, cinnamon, violets, incense, truffle, black cherry, and plum. Full-bodied, layered, dense, and rich, this Malbec manages to combine elegance and power. It is sweetly-fruited, savory, and harmonious. RP 94
Catena Zapata Adrianna Malbec 2006
This wine has a racy personality with a silky palate feel, sweet flavors, and exceptional length. RP 95
Catena Zapata Argentino Malbec 2006
This is a blend of the Nicasia and Adrianna Vineyards with the same elevage. As so often happens, the combination is better than either of the individual components. It is more complex aromatically, seems more opulent, has tons of flavor, and a lengthy, 60-second finish. RP 96
