A black purple color, stunningly sweet fruit, and a gorgeous bouquet of creme de cassis and toasty barrique are found in this ripe, full-bodied, deep, stunningly well-balanced, substantial wine with undeniable complexity as well as richness. Shafer Merlot 2006
The dark ruby/purple-colored wine is 84% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7% Cabernet Franc and exhibits fleshy, red and black currant and bay leaf characteristics. Medium-bodied with sweet tannin, it should drink nicely for a decade.Â
Shafer One Point Five 2006
The dark ruby/purple-tinged 2006 offers delicious red currant and black cherry fruit interwoven with notions of loamy soil and spring flowers. It is an elegant, stylish effort to enjoy over the next 10-15 years.
