Shafer Merlot 2006
The dark ruby/purple-colored 2006 Merlot exhibits fleshy, red and black currant, bay leaf, and underbrush characteristics.
Mollydooker Boxer 2009
Matured in American oak, this wine has a very deep garnet-purple color and intense blackberry, licorice, menthol and cocoa bean aromas. Very full-bodied and with medium-firm fine-grained tannins and generous, warm-berry flesh, it is nicely balanced by crisp acid, finishing long. RP 91
Pax Walker Vine Hill Syrah 2007
This is a beauty. A big, dense Syrah, it exhibits abundant aromas of créme de cassis, acacia flowers, pepper, meat juice, and a smoky barbecue character. Substantial, succulent, and opulent, it displays a flamboyant, full-bodied style that is hard to resist. RP 93
Chalk Hill Estate Red 2007
Perhaps their finest Estate Red to date is the 2007. Its dense ruby/purple hue is followed by blackberry, cassis, cedar, and licorice characteristics, supple tannins, a more accessible personality, full body, and admirable purity, texture, and length. RP 95
Blair Fox Tierra Alta Syrah 2007
From the limestone hills of Ballard Canyon comes this wonderful wine. It has terrific acids buttressing a dense, full-bodied, smoky Syrah with black fruits intermixed with camphor. Full, thick, and juicy, this wine is a virile, macho style of Syrah. Â RP 95
