This wine spent 18 months in 100% new French oak. Opaque purple-colored, it displays an expressive perfume of wood smoke, mineral, allspice, black cherry, and blackberry. On the palate it is full-bodied with gobs of savory fruit, a smooth texture, sweet flavors, and superb depth. RP 96 (6 bottles)

Catena Zapata Nicasia Vineyard Malbec 2006

This wine spent 18 months in 150% new French oak prior to bottling without fining or filtration. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it delivers a breath-taking bouquet of toasty oak, cinnamon, violets, incense, truffle, black cherry, and plum. Full-bodied, layered, dense, and rich, this Malbec manages to combine elegance and power. Sweetly-fruited, savory, and harmonious. RP 94 (3 bottles) 

Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard Malbec 2006

This wine received the identical elevage as the Nicasia cuvee. It has a racier personality with a silky palate feel, sweet flavors, and exceptional length. RP 95 (3 bottles)
