Sea Smoke Southing Pinot Noir 2008

The seductive nose of the 2008 Southing exhibits clove, dusty blueberry, cola, violets and hint of pineapple guava. The voluptuous mouthfeel and fine tannins are balanced

by our estate vineyard’s characteristic cool climate acidity.

Sea Smoke Chardonnay 2008

This wine was aged for a total of 16 months prior to bottling. Character: An elegant Chardonnay with aromas of apricots, orange flower water, vanilla bean and lychee nut—complemented by a nicely balanced mid-palate and the refreshing cool climate acidity of our estate vineyard.

Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Ferrington 2008

A little bit more direct than the other highly rated Pinots from Williams Selyem, this one is generously fruited and very rich with both suppleness and a touch of silk that carry it across the palate. Its style might tempt early drinking, but the very long finish and good balance will earn it a place in the cellar for a half decade’s rest. Of course, if you want to drink one wine from this special group, this one might be it if only because it is so delightfully deep even now. Connoisseurs Guide 93

Chappellet Pritchard Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

This wine boasts glorious notes of flowers, blueberries, blackberries, boysenberries, plums and incense. Full-bodied and layered with tremendous depth as well as purity and that nobility of great Cabernet Sauvignon that very few regions in the world can achieve. It is composed of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 8% Malbec, 2% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc. RP 96

Martinelli Jackass Vineyard Zinfandel 2009

From 106-year-old, head-pruned, dry-farmed vineyards planted on one of the steepest slopes in Sonoma.  Explosive, exotically perfumed aromas of blueberry, blackberry, dark chocolate, toasty oak spices and incense; there is nothing shy about this.  Lush, supple and broad, with palate-coating dark berry compote and floral pastille flavors accented by licorice and Indian spices.  For all its exotic fruit character, this shows surprising poise and precision and an almost restrained character.  It finishes velvety and long, with supple tannins and lingering notes of dark berry liqueur and candied flowers.  Stephen Tanzer IWC 93

Carlisle Petite Sirah Palaside 2009

Another wine for folks who suffer from clogged arteries is the massive, super-tannic, phenomenally concentrated Petite Sirah. A dense purple color is accompanied by scents of graphite, blueberry liqueur and ink as well as hints of oak and crushed rocks. RP 96
