JONATA

4 – 750 ml bottles each – 12 bottles total

Jonata el Alma 2007

This is the finest Cabernet Franc to emerge south of San Francisco; a blend of 89% Cabernet Franc, 7% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot cropped at 1.44 to 2.2 tons of fruit per acre. Ethereal floral notes intermixed with notions of black raspberries, blueberries, and graphite are present in the aromas and flavors. Although it exhibits noteworthy concentration as well as endearing texture, richness, and intensity, it is not heavy, but represents a quintessential expression of how Cabernet Franc can provide penetrating aromas and flavors without the sense of force and weightiness of Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot. Jonata el Desafia de Jonata 2007

This profound wine is the reference point for Cabernet Sauvignon in Santa Ynez. Blueberry liqueur, graphite, acacia flower, and creme de cassis aromas are followed by a wine with great stature, medium to full-bodied power, awesome layers of flavor, and a finish that lasts nearly 60 seconds. The tannins are substantial, but well-integrated and velvety, and the wine is impressively long and layered. RP 97

Jonata la Sangre de Jonata 2007

A compelling Chapoutier Ermitage look-alike, this wine is composed of 98% Syrah and 2% co-fermented Viognier fashioned from yields of 1 to 2.2 tons of fruit per acre. A prodigious example of Jonata’s style of Syrah, its black color is accompanied by a striking perfume of honeysuckle, white peaches, blackberry liqueur, charcoal, graphite, and pen ink, soft tannins, full-bodied power, a mutlidimensional personality, and a finish that lasts over a minute.
