 Trespass Cabernet Sauvignon 2003

Trespass Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is the result of a dedicated collaboration between husband and wife, Dana and Don Gallagher, long time supporters of the CBWCF, a renowned winemaker, Kirk Venge, and one small vineyard situated at the base of Spring Mountain in the Saint Helena Appellation (AVA) – Napa Valley.

Blended with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a deep ruby/purple color, a rustic structure, good tannin, and fine purity, richness, and balance. (4 Bottles)

 Shafer Merlot 2006

The dark ruby/purple-colored 2006 Merlot exhibits fleshy, red and black currant, bay leaf, and underbrush characteristics. Medium-bodied with sweet tannin, it should drink nicely for a decade. Celebrating 30 years of consistent quality and both critical and commercial success, this family run winery remains one of the most admirable operations in California.  (3 Bottles)

Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Always well made, always a favorite, this full-blown, ripe and rich wine has intense and sharply focused dried currant, wild berry and blackberry fruit. It ends with a long, persistent finish.”  WS 92 (3 Bottles)

 Mitolo GAM 2006

The 2006 Shiraz G.A.M. (the initials of the Mitolo children) was aged in French and American oak. Opaque purple in color, it has an aromatic array of roasted coffee, violets, lavender, pepper, Asian spices, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur. In the mouth it is velvety-textured, deep, concentrated, opulent, and altogether hedonistic.  RP 95 (3 Bottles)
 

Robert Foley’s Muscleman Petite Sirah 2006

The 2006 Petite Sirah Muscleman’s blue/black color is accompanied by a sweet nose of blueberries, blackberries, and background oak. Thick, juicy, rich, and highly extracted, with no bitterness, this is enormously endowed Petite Sirah. Impressive! RP 90 (2 Bottles)

Seghesio Zinfandel Sonoma County 2007

Top 100 in 2008; Rank: 10

This seductive and vigorous Zinfandel offers smoky black cherry and blueberry aromas that lead to youthful wild berry, sage and cracked pepper flavors, with a lingering finish and zesty tannins. WS 93 (2 Bottles)

 Mollydooker Boxer 2006

The compelling nose exhibits aromas of grilled bacon, blueberry compote and blackberry liqueur. Full-bodied, thick and rich, this layered Shiraz is velvety-textured and opulent. The finish lasts for nearly a minute. RP 94 (2 bottles)

Terra de Verema Triumvirat Priorat 2006

Opaque purple-colored, the multidimensional perfume offers up pain grille, wild blueberry, and black cherry. This is followed by a large-scaled, layered, opulent Priorat with gobs of spicy, intense, silky fruit, great balance, and a long, pure finish. RP 95 (1 Bottle)

Tensley Colson Canyon Syrah 2007

This is Tensley’s biggest production single vineyard Syrah. Like the other wines, it is aged in 80% neutral and 20% new French oak barrels, and is bottled with no fining or filtration. This blockbuster effort is as black as a moonless night. It offers up stunning notes of blackberry liqueur, creme de cassis, licorice, barbecue smoke, and a deep meaty character. The layered palate feel as well as the enormous richness and length result in one of the finest Syrahs being produced in California’s Central Coast. RP 95 (2 Bottles)

Brewer Clifton Mount Carmel Pinot Noir 2007

Two brilliant young winemakers, Greg Brewer and Steve Clifton, are symbolic of both the present and future of California high quality wine production. Seemingly coming out of nowhere, with their own personal visions of wine quality formed by French and Italian experiences as well as their belief in the cool climate sites of Santa Rita Hills, they have proven time and time again that remarkable wines can emerge from this relatively new viticultural region.

Brewer-Clifton’s 2007 Pinots represent another top-notch vintage for this estate. The Mount Carmel offers plenty of blue and red fruits intermixed with hints of smoke, roasted herbs, earth, pomegranate, and underbrush. The sweetness of the tannins, beautiful full-bodied mouthfeel, and good acidity all reflect another brilliant Pinot Noir from this exceptionally talented duo. RP 95+ (2 Bottles)
