The Chesapeake Bay Wine Classic Foundation kicks off the 18th Annual Event
Schedule as we strive to raise money to help educate
young people in Hampton Roads. The Grand Auction is
the largest and most successful wine auction in the
Commonwealth, attracting hundreds of wine lovers from
Hampton Roads and all over the East Coast.
History
Founded in 1991 by Eleanor & Bob Stanton and Herman L. "Butch" Butt, the CBWC began as a way to bring local wine enthusiasts together, promote the wine trade in Virginia and raise money for local charities in Southeastern Virginia. In its first year, $11,000 was raised. Each year since, the event has become more successful. More than $2 million has been donated to various local charities since its inception.
